	The Desert    One of the most amazing ecosystems is the desert. More than one-third of the land on Earth is desert. A desert is land where there is not more than 22 cm of rain per year. Deserts can have extreme temperatures. For example, it can be 100 degrees during the day and then 50 degrees at night!    There is very little water in a desert, but there is a lot of life.
