Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus, Santa, Father Christmas or Pere Noel: children love him all over the world. At Christmas time, they wait for him to bring them presents. In the United States, Santa flies from house to house on a sleigh and leaves presents under the Christmas tree. In England, children hang up their stockings over the fireplace for Father Christmas. In Mexico and Puerto Rico, children get two visits, one from Santa Claus and another from the Three Wise Men.

In Germany, children also get two visits. Saint Nicholas comes on December 5th. He brings them candy and collects their Christmas lists. Then, the Christmas Man brings the presents fro their lists on December 24th. In France, children put their shoes by the fire, and Pere Noel puts presents in them. In Italy, the presents are delivered by a good witch called Befana, on January 5th. And in Sweden, children wait for Santa's helper, an elf called Tomte.

A Pop Star

Jason Tyrone, the world's latest pop star, was very nervous when he appeared for the first time on Pop Star in 2005. But he won the hearts of millions of viewers and became the most popular winner ever. Since then, he has done a world tour and given concerts in London, Paris, New York, Moscow, and Mexico City. He has also had three hit singles and a number one album.

In an interview last week, he said, "The best thing about being a pop star is walking on stage and seeing thousands of people. It's so exciting. I have performed in 30 different cities this year - and each concert has been special. And I think I've been on TV about a hundred times. It's really cool!"
